In an election between two candidates, a candidate scored 47% votes and lost
by 5460 votes. Find the total number of votes polled​

Answer:

If losing  candidate scored 47% of the votes, the winning candidate won 100−47=53% of the votes.

Let the total votes be V

Given,

10053V−10047V=12,366

=>1006V=12,366

V=2,06,100

So total votes =2,06,100 and winning candidate won 10053×2,06,100=1,09,233
