In an election the number of votes which the three candidates received are as follows:
Candidate X:3284 ,Candidate Y:3455, Candidate Z:1521, It has then decided that the votes which Z has received are to be recast in favour of either X or Y and that the one who has greater number of votes shall be elected. Calculate the least number of votes which X must recieve in order to secure election.

8260÷2 = 4130

That means if each party x and y get 4130 vote they will be equal to win election or majority x should win one seat more than y

that means

Y= 4130-1 = 4129

X = 4130+ 1= 4131

So to win election x should atleast get 4131 votes

Votes x already got = 3284

Votes needed for x to win = 4131

Minimum no of Votes x should get to win election = 4131 - 3284 = 847

Therefore X should get 847 Votes more atleast to win election
