In an election the winning candidate won by 15% votes.If a total of 5000 votes were cast of which only 86% were eligible, then how many votes did the winning candidate get?

eligible votes=total votes×eligible votes%
=5000×86/100
=(50×86)votes
=4300votes
15% votes = eligible votes×15%
=(4300×15/100)votes
=(43×15)votes
=645 votes
winning candidate get votes=eligible votes+15%votes
(4300+645)votes
4945votes
winning candidate gets votes=4945votes
