10% of number voted were invalid =  10/100*80/100x  = 8/100 x

1st candidate got 50% votes = 50/100*80/100x = 40/100 x

2nd candidate got 40% votes = 40/100*80/100x = 32/100 x

margin = 600

40/100x-600 = 32/100x

8/100x = 600

8x = 60000

x= 7500 = total voters

not voted = 20% of 7500 = 1500

voted = 6000

invalid voted = 600

X received 50% of 6000 = 3000 votes, Y received 2400 votes
