Find Difference in percentage:

Winner = 63%

Loser = 100 - 63% = 37%

Difference = 63 - 37 = 26%

The winner won by 9600 votes:

26% = 9600

Find 1%:

1% = 9600 ÷ 26 = 369.23 votes (nearest hundredth)

Find 100% (Total):

100% = 369.23 x 100 = 36923 votes

Answer: Total votes = 36923

TooFree: "Won by" is the *difference* between the 2 scores. Example, if i have a score of 10 and you have a score of 12, you won me by 2 marks. The difference in our score is 2 marks.
JenilliaMishra1: ya!! I think he is right...
