valid votes=100%-(40+10)%

=50%

the winner wins 70% of the valid votes...and that 70% votes add up to 5400 votes.... then the total number of VALID votes=5400*100/70

~=7714.2857 the number of listed voters = 50%=7714 then 100% = 15428.5714(nearly)

there is a problem with the question as the answer cannot have decimal votes... :P

Answer:

25000

Step-by-step explanation:

let the total listed voters x

participate voters- (100-40)%of x

=60%of x

10%votes invalid then valid votes=90%of60%ofx

according to question,,

70%of(90%of60%ofx)-30%of(90%of60%ofx)=5400

40%of(90%of60%ofx)=5400

x=25000
