The work done will be 2mJ.

Explanation:

Work done is described as the amount of energy that is transported through or to an object when it is displaced across a specific distance by applying a certain force on it.

In the given situation, it is given that:

Displacement of the positive charge in the electric field = 2 cm

Work done = 2mJ

In case,

The object is displaced along a parabolic path of length = 5cm

Work done = ?

As we know,

The electric field is conventional. The amount of work done will be determined by the position of the object initially and finally. Thus,

∵ The work done would be the same = 2mJ
