In an electric toaster, coil gets heated but the connecting copper wires do not. Why?

Answer:

Copper has low resistivity. So heat produced in Cu wire is low (since H∝I²Rt). But heating coil gets heated as it is made up of high resistance nichrome wire. So heat produced in coil is high (since H∝I²Rt).
