In an entrance examination containing 50 questions, 4 marks are awarded for every  correct answer and -1 mark for every wrong answer and 0 for un attempted questions.Rohit attempted only 40 questions. Of which 25 were correct and 15 were wrong. find his score​

Let the answers correct be x,

• therefore, marks for these four correct answers wil be 4x

Let the no. of wrong answers be y,

• And thus, the total marls deducted be -1x

Now, according to question,

• 4(x) + [-1(y)] = total score
• 4(25) + [-1(15)]
• 100 - 15
• 85

Therefore, mohit's score is 85.
