Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of 5 rupee notes be x and 10 rupee notes be y.

Total amount of these notes is 350 rupees.

→ 5x + 10y = 350 .... (i)

Number of 5 rupee notes are less by 10 than twice number of 10 rupee notes.

→ x = 2y - 10

→ x - 2y = -10 .... (ii)

Multiply (ii) by 5, we get

→ 5x - 10y = -50 .... (iii)

Adding (i) and (iii), we get

10x = 300

x = 30

Put x = 30 in (ii), we get

y = 20

Therefore the number of 5 rupee notes are 30 and 10 rupee notes be 20.

Answer:

The number of 5 rupee notes is 30 and 10 rupee notes are 20.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of 5 rupee notes be x and 10 rupee notes are y.

The total amount of these notes is 350 rupees.

EQUATION: 5x + 10y = 350

                    20x-50=350

                    20x=400

                    X=20

The number of 5 rupee notes is less by 10 than twice the number of 10 rupee notes:

x = 2y - 10

10rupee notes are 20

5 rupee notes are 30
