In ΔABC , AD is median that means AD divide's BC in two equal parts

so the ΔABC will become two right angle triangle ADC and ADB,  so the area of right angle triangle ADC is 1/2×BC/2×AD

And area of ADC= area of ADB

Now the area of ΔABC is sum of area of ADC and ADB

1/2×BC/2×AD + 1/2×BC/2×AD = 1/2×BC×AD

so area of ΔABC is 1/2×BC×AD .
