Let the total students be x %age of students passed = 100-14 = 86 According to question 86% of x= 559 => x= 559*100/86 = 650 now no of students failed = 650-559 = 91 answer

In the exam 14% student failed
  % of students passed =100-14=84%
ATQ 84 % is 559
Hence no of student= 559*100/84= 650
No. of student failed=650*14/100=91
Number of student who failed is 91.
