marks for each correct answer= 3
marks deducted for each wrong answer=1

total no. of questions attempted by surjit=33
so, if all his questions were correct than he should score = 33 X 3
= 99

But marks scored by him= 71
means some of his questions were wrong=

marks he should score- marks he scored
99-71
=28
means he gave 28 wrong answers for which his 28 marks were deducted
means total correct answers given by him are= 23

But he gets 2 more marks than only his marks = 71

(He got those 2 marks for those questions whose answers were 2 or more options and his one answer was right and was one of those 2 or more options).
