In an exam, each answer fetches one mark and for each wrong answer, there is a penalty of one- fourth mark. 80% of the questions attempted by a student are right and he scored 60 marks. What is the number of questions he answered correctly?​

let total no. of ques. be 100

ques. attempted correctly= 80

wrong ques. =20

thus ,marks scored=80×1-20×0.25

=75

therefore,when total ques.is 100, marks scored 75

but total marks scored are 60,thus from unitary method total no. of ques. are 80

80%of 80 ques. =64

therefore,correctly answered ques. = 64
