Hello,
students who passed = 425
Percentage of students who passed = 100-15
= 85%
So
85% of x = 425
85/100 × x = 425
x = 425 × 100/85
x = 500
No. Of students who failed = 15% of 500
= 15/100 × 500
= 75

kuttyanju201: 75 students
Dmahes: x-425=0.15x;×=500;so,500-425=75

Given that 15% failed in the exam.

So that means that 100-15= 85% passed.

85% of total number of students
= 425 as given.

Total number of students = 425×100/85
= 500.

Number of students failed
= 500 - 425 = 75.
