Answer:

54 students

Step-by-step explanation:

300 students

28% got first division = 84 students

How to get?

(Multiply 300 by 28% or 0.28)

54% got second division = 162 students

How to get?

(Multiply 300 by 54% or 0.54)

To get the number of students who just passed we can use 2 ways;

▪︎By getting the percentage of students who just passed and multiply it to 300

28% + 54% = 82%

100% - 82% = 18% (this is the percentage of the students who just passed)

300×18%= 54 students

or

▪︎By adding all the students who got first and second division and then subtracting it to 300

84+162= 246

300-246= 54

*both led us to the same answer;)

Answer :

54 students

Step-by-step explanation:

Total no. of students appeared in an examination = 300

students got 1st division = 28 %

no. of students got 1st division = 28/100 × 300 = 84

students got 2nd division = 54 %

no. of students got 2nd division = 54/100 × 300 = 162

no. of students passed = 300 - ( 84 + 162 ) = 300 - 246 = 54
