● Total number of people passed in both subjects is 44%.

Given

● Percentage of people failed in science exam is 46%

● Percentage of people failed in maths is 42%.

● Percentage of people failed in both subject is 32%.

● In order to know the percentage of people failed in only one subject we have to subtract the percentage of people failed in both subjects from the individual subject percentage.

● Percentage of people failed in only science

= 46% - 32% = 14%

● Percentage of people failed in only maths

= 42% - 32% = 10%

● Total number of people failed in individual as well as both subjects is

14 + 10 + 32 = 56%

We know that total strength is 100%

So total number of people passed in both subjects will be 100 - 56 = 44%.
