In an examination, 7% of the candidates failed and 1116 passed. How many candidates appear in the examination

Well...
In case if 7% of the candidates are fail then 100- 7 =93% candidates are passed.
And we knew that 1116 people passed this exam. And now let there were "X" no. of candidates wgo appeared for exam.

So,
93/100 × X = 1116
X = 1116×100/93
X = 1200
