100/100 * 146
= 146
so, 146 candidates appeared in the examination.

Let the candidate appeared be x

Failed candidate = 100 -96 = 4%

4% candidate failed

4% of the total student is 50 %

so 1% of total student is 50 /4 12.5 %

means approx 13%

100% of the total student is. 13*100

=1300 student approx

hence your answer is 1300 student appeared
