total marks,T = x

in examination a candidate(A) obtained 32% marks and failed by 16 marks
so, pass percentage,
P = 32% of x + 16...........(1)

another candidate (B) obtained 36% marks which is 10 marks more than the pass percentage
so, P = 36% of x - 10........(2)

equate (1) and (2)
32% x + 16 = 36% x -10
16 + 10 = 36% x - 32% x
26 = 4% x
4x/100 = 26
x/25 = 26
x = 26*25
x = 650

so, total marks is x = 650 marks
then pass percentage,
P = (32% of 650 + 16) = 208+16 = 224

#mark as brainliest

sibhiamar: no problem
