In an examination ,a candidates gets 4 marks for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong answer .If a candidate attempts 35 questions and obtains 100 marks, find the number of questions answered correctly by the candidate.

For correct answer = 4marks    Let x= Number of correct answers

For wrong answer = -1 mark     (35-x)= Number of wrong answers

As total number of questions are 35;

Total Score = x(4) + (35-x)(-1)=100

4x- 35 + x= 100

5x = 135

x = 27  (Number of correct answers)
