Answer:

B has scored 380 marks

Let the marks scored by B = x

Since A has scored 20 marks more than b

Therefore, the marks scored by B = x + 20

According to the question, B has scored 5% marks less than A

Therefore

x=(x+20)-(x+20)\times\frac{5}{100}x=(x+20)−(x+20)×

100

5

x=(x+20)(1-\frac{1}{20} )x=(x+20)(1−

20

1

)

\begin{lgathered}\implies x=(x+20)(\frac{19}{20})\\\implies 20x=19x+20\times 19\\\implies x=380\end{lgathered}

⟹x=(x+20)(

20

19

)

⟹20x=19x+20×19

⟹x=380

Thus the marks scored by B = 380
