passing marks =25+175=200
so 40%=200 marks so
10%=50marks
100%=50×10=500
max marks is 500

Greetings..!

Let the maximum marks be valued as 100% .

Marks got by student = 175

Marks he failed by = 25

So, minimum pass marks = 175 + 25 = 200

So, 40% of maximum marks = 200

So,1 % = 200/40 = 5

Clearly,100% = 5*100 = 500

Answer : Hence , maximum marks is 500.
