the marks obtained by karan will be=
x +10
and, the marks obtained by isha will be= x-5. ------------------------------(a)

= x+x+10+x-5=170 (given)
= 3x+5=170
= 3x=170-5
= 3x=165
= x=165/3
= x=55
now,
above in (a) we assumed the marks obtained by isha= x-5
therefore,
marks obtained by isha = x-5
= 55-5
