Answer:

total marks =800

passing marks =279

Step-by-step explanation:

let the total marks be x

then case1st : passing marks

=

( X ×28)/100 +55

case2nd : passing marks

=

(X ×37)/100 -17

as both of them are same so

(28X/100) +55 = (37X/100) -17

(37X -28X)/100 =55+17

9X =72×100

X =7200/9

X =800

so total marks will be= 800.

and the passing marks will be ( 800 ×28)/100 +55

= 8 ×28 +55

=224+55

passing marks =279 .
