Let successful candidates be 5X
Let unsuccessful candidates be 2X
Total no. of candidates. is 4564
Now, if we add Successful and Unsuccessful candidates, we will get total no. of candidates. So the sum of 5X and 2X will be 4564.
By putting these in an equation, we get
5X + 2X = 4564
=> 7X = 4564
=> X =
= X = 652
Unsuccessful Candidates = 2X = 2 × 652 = 1304 Candidates
Successful Candidates = 5X = 5 × 652 = 3260 Candidates
