Explanation:

The heat produced was measured to be 180,000 kJ. Calculate the calorific value of the fuel. Answer: Total mass of fuel = 4.5 kg Total heat produced = 180,000 kJ Heat produced by burning 1 kg of fuel = 180,000 kJ/4.5 kg = 40,000 kJ/kg.

QUESTION:-

In an experiment 2.5kg of a fuel was completely burnt. the heat produced was measured to be 125000kj.calculate the calorific value of the fuel.

Solution :-

Amount of fuel = 2.5 kg

Heat produced = 125000 KJ

Calorific value =  \frac{125000 \times 10}{25}  \\  =  \frac{25000 \times 2}{5}  \\ 5000 \:  {kg}
