In an experiment 4 kg of a fuel was completely burnt. The heat produced was measured to be 120,000 kJ. Calculate the calorific value of the fuel.​

Given: Weight of fuel burnt = 4.5kg

To find : Calorific value = ?

Formula used : Calorific value =\frac{Amount\ of\ heat\ produced}{Weight\ of\ fuel\ burnt}Weight of fuel burntAmount of heat produced

Solution :

Calorific value = \frac{180000}{4.5}4.5180000

∴ Calorific value = 40,000 kJ/kg
