Step-by-step explanation:

The heat produced was measured to be 180,000 kj.

Calculate the calorific value of the fuel.

Answer: Total mass of fuel = 4.5 kj

Total heat produced = 180,000 kj

Heat produced by burning 1 kg of fuel = 180,000 kj/4.5 kg = 40,000 kJ/kg.

2. The value of x + x(xx) when x = 2 is:

(a) 10, (b) 16, (c) 18, (d) 36, (e) 64

Solution:

x + x(xx)

Put the value of x = 2 in the above expression we get,

2 + 2(22)

= 2 + 2(2 × 2)
