in an experiment Rahul placed the thermometer X at a distance of 10 cm from the flame of a gas stove on its side he placed and other thermometer Y directly above the flame at the same distance which thermometer x or y will show the higher reading why​

Thermometer y will show higher reading because it is just directly above the flame and the effect of heat makes the change in the reading of y thermometer than in x thermometer
