As we all are familiar with several experiments which we performed in our school laboratories too, we will not discuss about experimentation. But, observation is a factor highly influencing the total topic.

Besides observation, first of all, we have to know that temperature is the degree of hotness or coldness of any substances which is popularly measured in °C (degree celsius), with S. I. unit Kelvin (and not degree kelvin)

Coming to actual answer, you can say undoubtedly that the reading of the thermometer should be noted at 0°C since 0°C is the melting point of ice.

Well, the fixed temperature at which the ice melts into water is termed as melting point of ice. And we know, that the temperature is always 0°C but sometimes it have some minute increase which we will not accept because that is a very minor case.

So, the temperature reading (in °C) will be 0°C which however equals to 273 Kelvin on Kelvin scale.
