momentum is conservd because it indicate motion in body .kinetic energy transforme in mechanical energy

Answer:

this is because

expanation

in inelastic collisions reformation of bodies doesn't takes place thus thus no energy is consumed by the bodies for transformation into kinetic energy(as these bodies move in contact after collision)

and hence kinetic energy is not conserved in whole process in inelastic collisions.
