since angle b is right angle. ab =bc as abc is an isosceles triangle. so ab and bc are base and height and ac is hypotenuse. ac ^ 2 =2ab ^ 2.

Answer:

AB = BC (ABC is an isosceles triangle right angled at B) {1}

By Pythagoras Theorem

AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2

AC^2 = AB^2 + AB^2 (FROM {1})

AC^2 = 2AB^2
