Given - Base angles equal to 50° for isosceles triangle.

Find - Vertex angle

Solution - Sum of all the angles of triangle is always equal to 180°. Moreover, isosceles triangle always has two equal sides, hence, the two base angles will also be equal.

Let us assume the vertex angle to be x.

Now, representing the sum of triangles in equation form -

50 + 50 + x = 180

100 + x = 180

x = 180 - 100

x = 80°

Therefore, the vertex angle is 80°.
