Given:

  • The vertical angle measures 120°

To find:

  • The measure of each of the base angles?

Solution:

Let's consider ABC is a triangle.

Where,

  • Vertical angle = 120°

• As it is a isosceles triangle other two angles(base angles) will be equal.

• Let base angles of the triangle be x.

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, By forming an equation,

120° + x + x = 180°

→ 120° + 2x = 180°

→ 2x = 180° - 120°

→ 2x = 60°

→ x = 60/2

x = 30°

∴ Hence, The measure of base angles of the triangle is 30°.

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, Let's verify this,

120° + x + x = 180°

→ 120° + 30° + 30° = 180°

180° = 180°

LHS = RHS

  • Hence Verified.
