in an isoscles triangle,the length of the baseis two third of each of its equal sides .if their perimeter is 56cm.find its area?

perimeter = 56cm
let each equal side be x
b= 2x/3

56 = x +x + 2x/3
56= 8x/3
x= 21 cm

b = 2/3 × 21
= 14cm

area = 1/4b √4× a^2 - b^2
= 7/2 √245
= 49√5 /2
= 54.78 cm^2
