In an objective competitive exam, a correct answer score 4 marks and on a wrong answer 2 marks are negatively added. A student scores 420 marks from 150 question. How many answers were correct ?

If 150 questions are there in the paper and a student scores 420 marks from it, that means 120 answers were correct because for the 120 correct answers, the student will get 120X4 = 480 marks.

But, at the same time, 30 questions were wrongly answered.

That means for the 30 wrong answers, 30X2 = 60 marks were lost.

Hence, 480-60 equals 420. therefore, the correct answer is 120.
