let the total employees be x

∴ the average salary of the x employees is rs 8,000.

∴ the total salary of the x employees is =rs 8,000x.

now the nos of managers =x - 50

∴ the total salary of the x - 50  managers  is =rs 10,000 [x -50]

=10,000x-500000

average salary of all the 50 clerks is rs 3,000

∴ the total salary of the  50  clerks is rs 3,000*50 =Rs 150000

ATP

the total salary of the x employees = [ the total salary of the  50  clerks  + the total salary of the x - 50  managers ]

⇒ 8,000x. = [ Rs 150000 + Rs 10,000x-500000 ]

⇒ 8,000x. =  Rs 10,000x -350000

⇒  350000=  Rs 10,000x -8,000x

⇒  350000=  Rs 10,000x -8,000x

⇒  350000=  Rs 2000x

⇒ x =Rs 350000 / Rs 2000

⇒ x = 175 total nos of employees

now the nos of managers =x - 50 = 175 - 50 =125

the difference in the number of clerks and the number of managers

=125 - 50 =75 ANS
