In an optical fibre, the core material has refractive index 1.6 and refractive index of cladding material is 1.3. Calculate the critical angle and angle of acceptance cone.

sinα = √(1.6^2-1.3^2) / 1

sinα = √(2.56-1.69)

sinα = √(0.87)

sinα = 0.9327

α = arcsin(0.9327)

α = 68.86°
