by SSS criteria traingle ABD = traingle ACD
then,
triangle ABD + traingle ACD = traingle ABC
traingle ABD + traingle ABD = trangle ABC
2(triangle ABD) = traingle ABC
or, traingle ABD = traingle ABC /2
