In aqueous solution containing Ag+, Co2+ and Ti4+ the ion which will respond to magnetic field is Co2+.

  • The ions that contains unpaired electrons are paramagnetic in nature and responds to magnetic field while the ions that do not contain any unpaired electrons are dimagnetic in nature and does not respond to magnetic field.
  • Ag+ and Ti4+ have no unpaired electrons and hence are dimagnetic in nature while Co2+ having unpaired electrons is paramagnetic in nature.
