In arithmetic growth following mitotic division only one daughter cell divides while the other differentiates and matures.Please explain me What is difference between dividing and differentiating/maturing.

This answer is true if u r talking about meristematic growth
the cells of meristematic tissue have the capacity to divide. when a meristematic cell divides one of the daughter undergo differentiation and lose the property to divide and take up a particular function. While the other cell retains its property to divide and further divides to give two new cells and this process goes on repeating for the new cells formed
