a=16-2d

now,a7-a5=12

a+6d-(a-4d)=12

6d+4d=12

10d=12

d=12/10 d=6/5

Given ;

a3 = 16, a5 + 12 = a7

therefore ;

= a + (3-1)d = 16

=a + 2d = 16 ....(1)

2nd condition :

a + 4d + 12 = a + 6d

4d + 12 = 6d

d = 6

so put it in eq. a + 2d = 16

a + 2 × 6 = 16

a = 16 - 12

a = 4
