It's pretty good question to ask that, which current flows in the armature of AC or DC generator.
Actually, there is great difference between the current that is generated and supplied to the circuit and the current that flows in the armature.
DC generator , generates the direct current in the circuit but its armature will only have the alternating current or AC .
The same is with AC generator, it generates alternating current in the circuit as well as alternating current in armature.
So, whether there is AC generator or DC generator, the current that will flow in their armature will always be alternating current.
