A quark is a subatomic particle inside protons and Neutrons. There are several types of quarks, but the protons and neutrons are composed of Up and Down quarks. These quarks are incredibly close to each other too! There are also flavours of quarks, like charm quark. That’s the basics of quark.

A quark is fundamental particle which participates in the strong nuclear force. The theory of quarks is know as Quantum Chromodynamics or QCD. All hadrons are comprised of quarks, in particular, the atomic nuclear constituents, protons and neutrons, are composed of 3 quarks each.
