In the atmosphere, the ultraviolet radiation is checked by the stratosphere which has ozone layer in it. Although the layer of the ozone which is located in the stratosphere is extremely less, it hugely affect the amount of solar radiation by absorbing the harmful ultraviolet radiation which comes from the sun. Most of the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight is absorbed by oxygen on the Earth's atmosphere in the forms of the ozone layer of the lower stratosphere.
