Hello,

Given that
Number of the rows = Number of the chairs in each row that is the columns

So

We know that
No. Of columns * no. Of rows = total strength

So,
We know that
Rows = columns
So,

No. Of Rows ²=3085

No.of rows is equal to
 \sqrt{3085} =56(approx)

So,

The number of chairs in the auditorium is equal to root 3085 =56(approx)

Hope this will be helping you...

Let the number of rows = x
since the number of rows is equal to the number of chairs in each row,
number of chairs in each row = x
Now,
        total capacity of auditorium = no. of rows * no. rows
                                         3085   = x*x
                                          sq. root of 3085 = x
hence value of x is 55.54 i.e. 56(approximately0
therefore no. of chairs are 56
yeah if you tell that the total capacity of the auditorium is 3025 then the no. of chairs in each row will be 56.

lokikl: ok
Siddharthakumarpanda: thanks
lokikl: can you explain me in detail
Siddharthakumarpanda: yes we have two x terms in the question and both are multiplied to each other then my friend we know that if a no. is multiplied to itself it is squared then here also, x^2 = 3085 then x= root of 3085 then x= 55.54
Siddharthakumarpanda: similarly if the value is 3025 then x = 56 as 56^2 = 3025 then rot of 3025 is 56
Siddharthakumarpanda: if you don't mind then can you say that from where you got this question because it think that i had solved the above mentioned question earlier in NCERT textbook for maths class 8.
lokikl: can you send me the photo by solving
lokikl: yes you can say this question is taken from NCERT book
