in beam of sunlight entering a room, we can sometimes see dust particles moving in a haphazard way in the air. why do these dust particles move?​

Dust particles in air form a colloid.The particles of colloid are always in motion but the random motion of dust particles is called Brownian motion which is due to the collisions of the dust particles with themselves and particles of the surrounding medium.
