(b) a Red Blood Cell is kept in concentrated saline solution?
(c) the Plasma-membrane of a cell breaks down?
(d) rheo leaves are boiled in water first and then a drop of sugar syrup is put on it?
(e) golgi apparatus is removed from the cell.
Answers
Answer:
a] When dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water, they will swell. Because, water will enter into them through the process of osmosis. Later, when these apricots will be transferred to sugar solution, they will again shrink.
b] When RBC is kept in saline solution, it will shrink. As the concentration of saline solution is higher than the concentration inside the cell. Thus, water will move outside the cytoplasm and the cell will shrink.
c] If the plasma membrane ruptures or breakdown then the cell will not be able to exchange material from its surrounding by diffusion or osmosis. Thereafter the protoplasmic material will be disappeared and the cell will die
d] When Rheo leaves are boiled in water first and then a drop of sugar syrup is put on it, osmosis does not occurs, due to the death of the cells of the leaf.
e] If golgi apparatus is removed from the cell the formation of lysosomes will not occur.
