Answer:

When RBC is kept in saline solution, it will shrink. As the concentration of saline solution is higher than the concentration inside the cell. Thus, water will move outside the cytoplasm and the cell will shrink. When RBC is kept in concentrated solution, RBC will shrink.

When Red Blood cells are kept in concentrated saline solution then such solution is said to be hypertonic. Hence, exosmosis i.e., water will move from inside to outside of RBC through its cell membrane due to this, RBCs will shrink.
